Mission:

CIMPH strives to build bridges to health in underserved communities using sustainable integrative approaches. Employing a combination of conventional and complimentary medical strategies, we are dedicated to designing, implementing and evaluating innovative public health programs, training health care providers and improving the quality and efficacy of health care delivery in low income populations.

 

 

Goals: 

  • To facilitate the reduction of health disparities through integrative care.
  • To provide low income patients access to the benefits of evidence-based integrative medical approaches in the prevention and treatment of disease.
  • To train health care practitioners in the appropriate application of integrative methods when working in underserved populations.
  • To support the development cost-effective integrative public health interventions for acute and chronic disease.
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of integrative public health approaches in underserved communities.
  • To design and implement innovative integrative methods for preventing and treating obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus and their sequelae in underserved communities.
  • To develop and refine methods for providing individualized medical care at the population level.
  • To improve and sustain access to quality food supply in low income populations.
  • To improve the social and cultural appropriateness of integrative medical care in low income populations.
  • To encourage the collaboration between allopathic health care providers and complimentary health care providers when working in underserved populations.
